AGM: Assistant General Manager
(at Cielo Rojo's new restaurant: 7211 Carroll Ave)
About the Role:
-Reports to GM of new restaurant
-Works closely with GM/Owner to ensure operations are running smoothly between FOH and BOH
-With this being a new role during an expansion of our restaurant, we want someone motivated and excited to take on the opening of our new 3,500 SF restaurant space, this means they will also need to be flexible with the quick changes and adjustments that are made in a restaurant opening
-Oversees food quality and consistency
-Weekly inventory/ordering of FOH supplies
- Help create a welcoming community environment for guests and staff
- Guide staff in ensuring hospitality/service is top notch
- Observe the entire dining experience, ensuring that every meal and every moment exceeds expectations
- Oversee and ensure that all company systems and policies are maintained
- Make sure all new employees go through the proper training and have all the necessary tools to succeed in their position
-Updates item availability on all platforms for take out/dine in during a shift
-Handles customer issues/complaints and turns around their experience to a positive one when the GM is not available
-Supports GM in ensuring operations are running smoothly
About You:
- You are confident in building and leading a strong team, keeping high standards set by Owners and GM
- You exemplify the highest standards of honesty and integrity
- You are willing to go above and beyond to please guests
- You are highly confident in your abilities and are detail-oriented
- You are a team player and have excellent communication skills
-You are a HANDS ON manager, always lending a hand to staff and on the floor with them
- You genuinely get joy out of making people happy and can have fun while working
- You have a love and passion for the hospitality industry
- You work well with straight shooters and like honest conversations, you think quickly on your feet
-You care about creating a warm and loving work environment while at the same time have high standards of excellence
-At least 2 years restaurant management experience/min. 5 years restaurant FOH experience

This will be our new concept in the current space we occupy, 7056 Carroll Ave, when we move Cielo Rojo to 7211 Carroll Ave
About the Role:
-Assist directly with hiring and training decisions for FOH team (final decisions on hiring made by Owner)
-Works closely with Owner to ensure operations are running smoothly between FOH and BOH
-There is no one above this manager except for the owner, they manage all of FOH & BOH when Sous Chef is not working
-Oversees food quality and consistency at the highest standards of care
-Weekly inventory/ordering of FOH supplies
-Makes weekly FOH schedule
- Help create a welcoming community environment for guests and staff
- Guide staff in ensuring hospitality/service is top notch
- Observe the entire dining experience, ensuring that every meal and every moment exceeds expectations

-Reports to GM but work closely together to ensure kitchen and FOH are working well together to ensure success
-Oversees food quality and consistency at the highest standards of care, consistently giving feedback to cooks to better their performance
-Trains new kitchen staff to restaurant standards
-Ensures food quality is on par with Owner expectations
-Oversees plating of dishes to ensure they are done the same each time
-Tastes and oversees sauces, meats, dishes, to ensure they are made correctly on a daily basis
-Weekly inventory/ordering of BOH supplies
-Makes weekly BOH schedule
- Help create a welcoming community environment for kitchen staff
- Guide kitchen staff to ensure kitchen timing is on par with restaurant standards
-Oversees timing of kitchen
-Works the line/supports kitchen staff during busy periods and is not sitting around/team player/on hands manager
- Oversee and ensure that all company systems and policies are maintained
- Make sure all new employees go through the proper training and have all the necessary tools to succeed in their position
-Updates GM and FOH Leads on item availability
-Helps to maintain minimal food waste by ensuring the right amount of food is heated or made per season/day/week
About You:
- You are confident in building and leading a strong team, no issues communicating to other kitchen employees during stressful periods
- You exemplify the highest standards of honesty and integrity
- You are willing to go above and beyond to ensure the quality and consistency of food is on par with Ownership standards
- You are highly confident in your abilities and are detail-oriented
-Defined palatte that can distinguish what is needed to balance salsas
- You are a team player and have excellent communication skills
-You are hands on and always lending a hand to staff
- You have a love and passion for the food/Mexican-Californian cuisine
- You work well with straight shooters and like honest conversations
-You care about creating a warm and loving work environment while at the same time have high standards of excellence
-At least 2 years Sous Chef experience or Kitchen Management experience
PLUS: Has experience working in Mexican cuisine
-Must be Bilingual in Spanish and English: conversational Spanish and must be able to write/read in English
