Cielo Rojo has expanded to a larger location down the street in a beautiful setting in the heart of Takoma Park, MD. We were just named the #5 best new restaurant in the D.C. area by Tom Sietsema of the Washington Post! Our slogan Maíz, Espíritu, Amor embodies what we hope to bring to the table. A space that gives tribute to heirloom corn, the human spirit (& agave spirits), & love! This role will be involved in Cielo Rojo and be physically at this location but will also handle catering/event emails for our sister restaurant, San Pancho & Cielo Rojo.

*This is MOSTLY a FOH Mgmt position with side tasks of handling catering/events. This position requires FOH experience and FOH Mgmt experience. This is not a BOH position. Knowledge of FOH tasks, hospitality and service is essential to this role.*

Restaurant Operations Responsibilities:
- Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily operations of the restaurant
- Manage and supervise staff, ensuring they provide excellent customer service
- Monitor food presentation to ensure quality and consistency and coordinate with Head Chef & GM
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen and dining areas
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional manner
- Support the General Manager in financial management, including budgeting and cost control for FOH labor & operational efficiencies
-Gives insights into FOH Staff performance by training, guiding, and coaching staff on how to better operate
-Supports the floor during busy periods with other FOH Managers: this includes supporting hosts, expo line and touching tables/interacting with guests
-Assist in closing the restaurant (closings are rotated bt 3 FOH Managers) and ensure staff do their closing duties in a timely manner
-Motivate staff towards excellence and support a dynamic and positive work environment
Catering & Events Responsibilities:
- Respond to catering & events inquiries in a timely manner via email, website (Wix) and over the phone
- Organize and execute special events in private dining room and restaurant rentals
-SALES: comfortable selling experiences/events and upselling, when appropriate via email, video calls, phone calls and in-person meetings with potential customers
-Hops on video calls throughout the week to walk through events/catering options with potential customers (forward facing/excellent communication skills)
-Handles catering/events for both restaurant concepts: Cielo Rojo & San Pancho
-Create invoices/orders for guests for both catering and events
-Reserve tables/rooms for events via Tock
-Communicate between teams to execute special events/catering

Skills:
-Hospitality focused: a seasoned hospitality professional who demonstrates hospitality effortlessly
-DETAIL ORIENTED: you are a master of details. You see what others don't and ensure all details taken care of when organizing events, observing restaurant operations and creating invoices for customers
-Sales: is confident in their ability to upsell/sell and communicate effectively with potential clientele
-Communication: Is an effective communicator that can gauge different personalities and needs effortlessly and leads by example
- Leader: Leadership abilities to motivate and guide the team towards achieving goals, growing and excelling at their jobs
-Event planning experience: Loves planning and executing events and has experience doing so
- Management experience: at least 2 years restaurant management experience
-PLUS: fluent in Spanish, conversationally (not a requirement)

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
