Bar & FOH Manager

Job description:

Cielo Rojo sits in a beautiful setting in the heart of Takoma Park, MD. We were just named the #5 best new restaurant in the D.C. area by Tom Sietsema of the Washington Post! Our company is growing and we need new management! Our slogan Maíz, Espíritu, Amor embodies what we hope to bring to the table. Responsibilities:

- *MUST HAVE BARTENDING EXPERIENCE in fast paced cocktail bars/restaurants*

-This is mainly a FOH Management role that supports the floor, manages FOH staff & helps with the flow of our busy paced restaurant

- Manages and supervises staff, ensuring they provide excellent customer service

-This manager is the point person for the bar staff. They will assist them during rushes (making cocktails, attending to guests, communicating needs to bussers/barbacks etc.)

-This manager will be doing weekly inventory & ordering of all needs for the bar

- Monitor food presentation to ensure quality and consistency on the food pass, work closely with our Head Chef to point out or fix any issues on food quality

- Implement inventory control procedures to minimize waste and optimize stock levels- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen and dining areas- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional manner

- Support Management team in filling the need during busy shifts whether that is checking on tables, running food, helping host, giving feedback to FOH staff on what is needed, etc.
 

Skills:

- Strong background in bartending (at least 3 years experience in high volume)

-MANAGEMENT experience: must have managed other staff directly before. At least 2 years experience in management

- Excellent inventory control skills to manage stock levels effectively

-Attention to detail: you see all the details of what needs to get done or fixed in any given environment

-Ability to see where the need is and to anticipate customers needs

-Hustle mentality: you are a "hands on" manager and are not afraid to jump in and help with whatever the need is

- Exceptional customer service skills to ensure a positive dining experience for guests, you are able to turn around negative experiences and have guests leave happy

- Leadership abilities to motivate and guide the team towards achieving goals

- Knowledge of hospitality industry standards and best practices

-Positive attitude and energy to motivate a large team

- Previous experience in restaurant management or a similar role-Steady demeanor to handle pressure, stress and a fast moving restaurant environment


Spanish speaking = preferred/plus
Knowledge/passion for mezcal/tequila = preferred/plus
